BIRTHDAY OF THE TREES PARTY CROWN
Celebrate trees and think of the many reasons to love them with this festive party crown! It’s truly amazing all the things that trees do — everything from cleaning the air, providing a home to animals, giving us shade on a hot day, and so much more. This Tu B’Shevat craft gives your kiddos a chance to not only be creative, but also inspire others to be thankful for trees! Be sure to download the free Birthday of the Trees Party Crown Leaves PDF, which also includes a sheet of blank leaves so that your kiddos can brainstorm their own “We Love Trees!” list. Chag Sameach!
HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED:
-Paper plate (preferably one made from recycled paper)
-Birthday of the Trees Party Crown Leaves PDF
-Glue
-Optional: paint (if you want to paint the crown before you add the leaves)
-Optional: pom poms, gems, feathers, and/or anything else you want to add to make it festive
HERE’S WHAT YOU DO:
(1) Poke a hole in the center of your plate (this makes it easier to start the cutting) and then cut the middle part of the plate into eight sections (see photos). (2) If you want to paint your crown, this is a good time to do it — just make sure it dries completely before you glue the leaves. (3) Print the free Birthday of the Trees Party Crown Leaves PDF, and cut out the leaves. Please note that there are blank leaves in case you want to write in your own reasons to love trees! (4) Glue a leaf to each “triangle” section of your party crown. (5) If you want to add more items to your crown, such as pom poms, gems, feathers, you can glue those, too. (6) Voila — now you’re ready to celebrate the Birthday of the Trees!
