DUCT TAPE MATZAH TRAY

Add some color to your seder table and keep your matzah organized and easily accessible with a Duct Tape Matzah Tray! Working with duct tape is super fun, especially since there are so many different colors and patterns to choose from! Kids will enjoy covering five pieces of recycled cardboard with their favorite colors and patterns and then the grown-ups can hot glue everything together (only grown-ups should use the hot glue gun, of course). Your beautiful and unique matzah tray will be surprisingly sturdy, and your whole family will look forward to using it year after year! Chag Pesach Sameach!

HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED:

-Cardboard
-Duct tape in whatever color/pattern you like (note that patterns are a little trickier to work with)
-Scissors
-Hot glue gun (ADULTS ONLY for the glue gun, of course)

HERE’S WHAT YOU DO:

* I buy Manischewitz matzah, which is 6.5” x 7.” Based on that size, I made the matzah tray in this example 8” x 8.” Of course, if your matzah is a different size, make your matzah tray so that it’s at least an inch bigger than your matzah. (1) Cut four pieces of cardboard: One that is 8” x 8,” two that are 8” x 3,” and two that are a smudge bigger than 8” x 3” — say 8.125” x 3.” This tiny bit of extra length on two of the sides will make it easier to join and glue the four sides together. (2) Cover all four pieces in duct tape on both sides. (3) Use a hot glue gun (ADULTS ONLY FOR THAT STEP) to join the four sides to the 8” x 8” base. (4) The hot glue dries pretty quickly, so you’ll be able to use your matzah tray right away! (5) Use a Sharpie to write your child’s name and the year on the bottom of the matzah tray.
