PURIM PAPER PLATE MASK

It’s truly amazing all the crafts one can make with a paper plate, and this festive craft is no exception! Have your kiddos cut a paper plate in half — one half will be for the main part of the mask, and the other half can be used to create something extra, such as a crown. Then they can paint and decorate it however they like; and for the last step, they’ll glue on a craft stick, which they will hold when they put the mask up to their face. It’s so simple, yet there are endless options for creativity! Enjoy!

HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED:

-Paper plate (“regular” paper plates don’t hold up as well with paint, so if you want to paint your mask, use a sturdier paper plate and preferably a recycled one)
-Craft stick (I used a jumbo size craft stick)
-Scissors
-Paint in whatever color(s) you like
-Glue
-Sequins, feathers, pom poms, gems, and/or whatever doodads you’d like to include

HERE’S WHAT YOU DO:

(1) Cut your paper plate in half. (2) Draw two semicircles for the eye holes; I used the cap of a vitamin bottle as a stencil so that the two eye holes would be even. (3) Paint the main part of your mask. You can also paint the craft stick. (4) If you’d like, make something extra for your mask using the other half. I made a crown. (5) After the paint is thoroughly dry, glue on whatever doodads you like to the mask. (6) Glue the craft stick to the mask. You will hold this to put the mask over your face. (7) Once everything is dry, you’ll be ready for Purim — Chag Sameach!
