BEDAZZLED TZEDAKAH BOX
Everyone will want to give more tzedakah when they see that your kiddos have made a Bedazzled Tzedakah Box! All the sparkles will remind them that tzedakah means “justice,” and it’s our obligation to help those in need. Kids LOVE any craft that involves gems — it’s so fun to look at them all and decide which ones to pick. Sequins work, too; but I think we all know that gems are the best! Your kiddos will surely enjoy making this colorful craft AND making it easy for your family to do one of the most important mitzvot — giving tzedakah!
HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED:
-Unfinished wood tzedakah box
-Paintbrush and acrylic paint in whatever color(s) you like (alternatively, you can use markers)
-Craft gems (you can also add sequins or anything else you’d like to make it sparkle)
-Glue (regular Elmer’s glue works great)
HERE’S WHAT YOU DO:
(1) Write your name and the year on the bottom of the box and then paint it whatever color(s) you like. Alternatively, you can use markers. Let it dry completely. (2) Working on one side at a time and letting it completely dry (about an hour) before going on to the next side, glue the gems and/or whatever pieces you’d like to include. If you don’t let each side dry completely, the gems will slide down the box. (3) Once it’s completely dry, you can start adding coins for tzedakah!
