HANGING GLITTER PINECONES
This beautiful Sukkot craft was inspired by Meri Cherry Art Studio, one of my favorite sources for creative art ideas! It’s so much fun to paint the pinecones and get into all the little nooks and crannies. And what kid can resist glitter? It just makes everything magical! Slipping the beads onto floral wire is so satisfying and makes this colorful craft a triple threat — paint/glitter/beads!
HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED:
-Pinecones (I bought some that already had loops of string glued onto the bottoms)
-Acrylic paint, any colors you like
-Glitter
-Floral wire (I used 1.5 mm)
-Beads
HERE’S WHAT YOU DO:
(1) Paint each pinecone. You might need to do this in two steps in order to get the top and the bottom painted — let the coats dry in between. (2) Sprinkle the painted pinecone with glitter (while the paint is still wet). (3) Cut the floral wire to the length you’d like the decoration to be. If you’re making more than one Hanging Glitter Pinecone, it’s fun to vary the lengths of each one. (4) Attach the floral wire to the string loop on the pinecone. (5) String the beads onto the wire, allowing some extra wire to be free at the top. (6) Bend the wire at the top into a hook or circle. (7) Hang your beautiful decoration in your sukkah!
