YARN-WRAPPED MINI TAMBOURINES
When the Israelites fled Egypt and reached the other side of the Red Sea, they sang and danced because they knew they were free. Add some extra joy and music to this part of your seder with these adorable mini tambourines! Made with bangle bracelets, mini jingle bells, and yarn, these little sound makers are so fun to make and even more fun to use! Chag Pesach Sameach!
HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED:
-Plastic bangle bracelets (I used child-size bracelets)
-Jingle bells (I used a .5 inch size)
-Yarn in whatever color(s) you like
-Scissors
-Optional: needle threader (this makes it easier to thread the yarn through the bells)
HERE’S WHAT YOU DO:
(1) Cut a 5-inch piece of yarn and thread it through one of the bells. Having a longer piece of yarn makes it easier to thread and also easier to tie a couple of knots. (2) Secure the bell to the bracelet by tying a couple of tight knots. (3) Tie a couple of additional knots at the base of the bell. This will help it to stay in place. (4) Repeat steps 1-3 for each bell (I used five bells). (5) Cut off the tails of the yarn for each bell. (6) Next cut a longer piece of yarn (about 18 inches or so) and then tie it to the bracelet tightly. (7) Wrap the yarn around the bracelet, keeping each go-around tight next to the previous one. When you get closer to the end, tie a knot to finish it. (8) Repeat step 7 until the bracelet is completely wrapped. (9) Use your mini tambourines at your seder to add some extra joy and music!
