PAINTED WOOD PUMPKINS
Sukkot is known as “the time of our joy” (in Hebrew — z’man simchateinu), and what a joy it is to decorate a sukkah! Of course, the sukkah itself is beautiful on its own, but during the week of Sukkot, it becomes our temporary home — and just as you would decorate your home, you can decorate your sukkah! These painted wood pumpkins will add bright colors and some fall festivity to your sukkah, plus your kiddos will have so much fun painting them! Chag Sameach!
HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED:
-Unfinished wood pumpkins (I bought these at JoAnn Fabrics)
-Acrylic paint in whatever colors you like
-Twine
HERE’S WHAT YOU DO:
(1) Paint one side of each pumpkin and allow them all to fully dry. (2) Paint the other side of each pumpkin and allow them all to fully dry. (3) Add twine “loops” to each pumpkin, tying simple knots so that they stay in place. Alternatively, you could feed a long piece of twine through all the pumpkins and have a pumpkin gardland. (4) Hang your pretty painted pumpkins in your sukkah!
