HAPPY BIRTHDAY ISRAEL PAPER BALLOONS
If you love Israel, you’ll love making these festive blue paper balloons to celebrate Yom Ha’atzmaut, Israel’s Independence Day! I made a free PDF that includes several sizes of balloons — just print it, choose what size you like, trace it onto some blue paper, cut it out, and then decorate the balloons any way you like. I used washi tape, but you could use markers, crayons, colored pencils, stickers, and/or pieces of paper. Once you’re done decorating, you can hang your beautiful balloons on your wall or put them anywhere you want — they surely will make celebrating Israel’s birthday extra fun!
CRAFT STICK JEWISH STAR
Make Yom Ha’atzmaut, Israel’s Independence Day, extra festive with this fun Craft Stick Jewish Star with blue and white embellishments! You’ll need six craft sticks to make two sets of equilateral triangles; once you do that, just glue one triangle on top of the other, and voila — you have a Jewish Star! Decorate it with blue and white embellishments — buttons, sequins, pom poms, beads, or anything else that you like! Am Yisrael Chai!
SALT PAINTED ISRAELI FLAG
Salt painting is truly a thrilling art technique, and your kids will LOVE making a Salt Painted Israeli Flag for Yom Ha’atzmaut! It’s super simple — just “draw” the Star of David and two stripes of the Israeli flag with glue onto cardstock; sprinkle table salt over the top; give the paper a gentle shake to get rid of the excess salt; and then dip your paintbrush in blue liquid watercolors and touch any of the glue/salt areas. Watch with delight as the watercolors quickly spread into the glue/salt areas — it looks like magic! What a fun way to celebrate Israel’s birthday!
